RECAP: Coquitlam “Sharks in the Park” Meet (2026)

By Coach Alexandra McKnight

Super Sharks had a fantastic weekend at Sharks in the Park in Coquitlam! This out of region meet gave our swimmers the chance to race against new competition, build new friendships, and gain valuable experience. We had close to 40 Super Sharks present, each one participating enthusiastically in our club cheers. Every swimmer represented the club with great effort, determination, and sportsmanship throughout the weekend.

While no club records were broken, there were plenty of personal best times, especially in the 100 IM. It was great to see swimmers put their training into action, race with confidence, and continue improving with every swim.

Outside the pool, the fun never stopped. Our swimmers gathered in the tent to watch the World Cup together, cheering loudly for their favourite teams. Congratulations to Spain! There were also plenty of laughs spent relaxing in sleeping bags, making Starbucks runs, and enjoying card games together between races.

The relays were another highlight of the meet. Swimmers raced alongside new teammates, met new friends from across the region, and created memories that made the weekend even more special.

A big thank you goes to all of our coaches for their support throughout the meet. We also want to thank the Coquitlam Sharks, officials, and all of the volunteers who helped set up, take down, bring snacks, and keep the meet running so smoothly. Events like this would not be possible without your hard work and dedication.

Thank you to all of our swimmers and families for making this such a fun and successful weekend. We are proud of everyone’s effort and look forward to seeing what the team accomplishes at the next meet! 🦈💚
