RECAP: NSWC Marlins Annual Swim Meet (2025)
By Coach Natalia:
This past weekend, the Super Sharks competed at the NWSC, who will be hosting this year's Regionals. It was a great opportunity to provide swimmers with a chance to not only familiarize themselves with the facility but also compete against other clubs in our region.
Despite the chilly, wet conditions, the swimmers stepped up and did an excellent job over the weekend. We saw heaps of best times across all groups, many swimmers racing in the A Heats, with top finishes, and overall improved technique, turns and dives. Some of the highlights from the weekend were:
Endurance; many of the swimmers competed in 4 races/ day, and maintained their efforts throughout the full weekend.
Team Cohesion; we saw so many swimmers form cheer squads and support other athletes, in individual and relay races.
Race Execution; swimmers showed their ability to dial in on their races and try out different race strategies.
We are just about to enter July, and with this comes a very busy schedule for the team. Let's carry these efforts forward to our Hootney swim meet this upcoming weekend, which we will be co-hosting at Watermania, for a heats and finals competition. Excited for some fast racing and more top-eight finishes!
