RECAP: Squamish Pirates Sprint Challenge (2026)

By Coach Jaina:

The Super Sharks competed at the Squamish Pirates' Sprint Meet last Saturday, marking the first meet of Summer 2026! The sprint meet included six races: 50 FR, 50 FLY, 50 BACK, 50 BR, 100 IM and 100 FR. Swimmers were given rubber ducks for:

· Times ending in .26

· Winning a bell race

This meet was the first swim meet ever for many of our youngest athletes. To all our first-timers: you swam your hearts out, and made your coaches incredibly proud!

An ongoing tradition at the Pirates' meet: the Coaches' Sock and Shirt Relay! Our coaches' relay came in 3rd place! Congratulations to Coaches Jaina, Avery, Alex N., and Andrew.

To end the meet, our Division 8 Girls relay team, made up of Coaches Emily, Jaina, Alex M., and Avery, tied for 1st place with the Pirates in the freestyle relay. If that wasn't exciting enough, this heat was also a bell race!

Congratulations to every swimmer who competed, cheered, and collected a duck or two. It was a fantastic season opener, and the coaches are already excited for more meets to come. See you at NSWC!
