SUMMER SWIMMING 2026
Please see our Club Calendar for all the dates listed below. Any changes or additions to the 2026 schedule will be reflected here and in our calendar as soon as they are known.
Preparations for the 2026 summer swimming season is underway for Vancouver & District!
How is summer swimming different from fall/winter maintenance? Training ramps up, including dryland fitness at the end of May through end of July. The Super Sharks start competing in swim meets with other BCSSA clubs in our region (Vancouver & District), as well as outside of our region if we choose. This is an exciting time for the entire club—there’s a noticeable shift in energy and effort by all.
The V&D swim meets in 202 are:
Squamish Pirates at Brennan Park, Squamish: May 23 (Meet Package)
North Shore Winter Club Marlins at NSWC: June 13-14 (Meet Package)
Hootenany at WaterMania, Richmond: July 4-5 (Meet Package)
Vancouver Vikings at WaterMania, Richmond: July 11-12 (Meet Package)
Regionals at August 1-2: TBA (Meet Package)
Provincials in Kamploops: August 13-16
For more information about the 2026 Provincial Championships including hotel information, please see the BCSSA Provincials website

Related Events (see below for details)
Time Trials: TBA
Swim-a-thon: TBA
Hell Week: TBA and Super Duper Day/Night: TBA
We understand families have summer plans and won’t be able to attend every meet. However, it’s to your swimmer and the Club’s benefit to attend as many as possible, even if it’s only for one day of the swim meet.
Despite competing in mostly individual events, we attend the meets as a cohesive team and the swimmers bond, forming friendships for life.
The swimmers also experience the reward of all their efforts during the fall/winter season, as well as the more intensive training that we start in May. This season is about achieving personal bests and being in the moment.
About Each Swim Meet
The Club name on each meet designates the host club who runs it entirely with parent volunteers. Each meet has its own style depending on the size, location, and how it’s run, so if you’re new to summer swimming be sure to try a few different meets. Feel free to ask other parents about their experiences at the meets.
We break down what to bring and to expect during the day on the Swim Meets web pages.
Related Events
Prior to the start of the swim meet season, swim clubs perform time trials with their swimmers. Time standards are reviewed each year and adjusted as necessary to ensure accuracy and balance between competitive events. Time Trials are scheduled for the morning of TBA. The Time Trials event includes an introductory “Officiating” overview for parents interested in volunteering to be a Swim Official.
We’re running the Swim-a-thon fundraiser on TBA as a lead-in to the summer season. It tests endurance and is an important fundraiser to help pay for Super Sharks social events and meet supplies.
In July, as is tradition with many BCSSA swim clubs, the coaches run Hell Week which is a blend of fun social events, team building, and extra hard work both in and out of the pool (dryland training). Hell Week for 2025 is scheduled for the week of TBA. Be sure to keep this week free for your swimmer as the coaches will plan a range of activities, trips, and a team dinner. The week culminates in a role reversal where the swimmers get to pie the coaches!
If you ask any of the more senior swimmers and coaches, they’ll tell you that their favourite part of swim club is the summer experience.
