RECAP: BCSSA Provincial Championships - Prince George (2025)

What a weekend! Last weekend, 21 of our swimmers competed at Prince George in the three-day BCSSA Provincial Championships. Despite the unpredictable northern weather, our team’s spirit burned bright, leading to an incredible display of speed, determination, and heart. Special thanks to Coach Jaina for stepping up to be this year's V&D Regional Head Coach!

The top 8 swimmers from individual events race in the A Finals for the medals, while places 9 through 16 compete in the B Finals. We had many personal bests and achieved countless "first" moments on the provincial setting.

A Finalists:

Kathryn Medoro - 50 FR (8th)

Jaina Jose - 50 FR (7th)

Lucas Fluevog - 50 BK (8th) - with a new PQT!

B Finalists:

Tristan Gfrerer - 200 IM (10th), 50 FR (12th)

Lucas Fluevog - 50 FR (10th)

Taylor Buick - 50 FLY (13th)

Emily Dang - 100 FLY (15th), 50 FLY (15th)

Andrew Kuan - 100 FLY (12th), 100 BK (9th)

Kathryn Medoro - 100 BK (9th)

Scarlett Soo - 100 FR (14th)

Relay Finalists:

Taylor Buick, Jocelyn Jang, Leila Jang, Scarlett Soo - Div 4 Medley + FR (8th)

Nathan Davison, Isaiah Chao, Jonah Chao, Vincent Li - Div 7 FR (6th)

To cap off the weekend, 6 of our swimmers were selected to swim in the Regional Medley Relays!

Congratulations to Kathryn Medoro for swimming an amazing freestyle leg and bringing home a bronze medal in the Div 5 Girls Regional Relay - What a way to wrap up the weekend!

Congratulations to every single swimmer who represented our team with such pride and passion at Provincials this year. Your hard work and dedication truly paid off. Your coaches are SO proud of you all. See you next season!
